Fashion for A/W 2012 - part 1

Hi! So now it's time for the first part of the amazing, huge A/W 2012 trend posts! There were a lot of different trends to choose from, continuing with the thought that everything is in fashion... I chose seven of the biggest styles to show you and I'll tell my favourite things about them of course :) And since all of this in one post would be simply too big to handle, I'll post it in two parts.

The first trend on my list is femme fatale. The difference with last year's domina trend is that this year, you don't want to look kinky but powerful, alpha female if you will. This power woman wears strong silhouettes, like peplums, strong-shouldered jackets, and cinch-waist coats with a pencil skirt and killer heels. Over-knee boots go great with this trend too, as do chiffon, silk, velvet, and the most important one: leather. Leather is a big part of this autumn and can be transformed to work in all trends. If you buy something, make it leather! Add a little dark red lipstick and you're ready to conquer the streets, see Gucci, Lanvin, and Givenchy for inspiration ;)

If a metal peplum isn't femme fatale, I don't know what is...

Lara Stone and dark lips.

Loving the sheer chiffon, I'd like some more of that in my closet. Via Google, Gucci A/W 2012.

I'm still looking for the perfect leather skirt/dress... It doesn't need to be completely out of leather, some details would do just fine also. Via Google, Givenchy A/W 2012.

I'm liking the peplum more and more, not sure if I could wear this extreme though :D Via Google, Lanvin A/W 2012.

Next up is the army trend mixed with the equestrian (ratsastaja) trend. These two are very similar, and the clothes that belong to one of these trends work well with the other one too. You want to look buttoned up and sleek with closely tailored pieces and defined waists. Army-green trenches, jodhpurs (ratsastushousut), double-breasted cropped coats, and riding boots go with khaki, knits, high-collared shirts and more leather. I personally would leave the camo clothes to the minimum. Inspiration found from Gucci, Givenchy, Moschino and Burberry Prorsum.

I love parka's, so a khaki green parka would be the perfect nod to the army trend for me.

Over-knee boots work with equestrian too! Via Google, Givenchy A/W 2012

If you want a more playful equestrian look, this your inspiration. Via Google, Moschino A/W 2012.

That double-breasted coat is a great way to do army, something I would love to wear. Via Google, Burberry Prorsum A/W 2012

The third trend on my list is the embellished with a capital E, really it should be EMBELLISHED. This autumn you can have anything and everything imaginable on your clothes, from jewels and crystals to prints and embroidery. And it doesn't mean a jewel here and a bit of embroidery there, it means an explosion of jewels everywhere on top of the embroidery :D More is definitely more, and a bejewelled dress or coat is the perfect way to this trend. See how it's done at Balmain, Louis Vuitton, Chanel and Dolce & Gabbana.

Embellished collars, pure love!

If you want to add some baroque to your style, Dolce & Gabbana A/W 2012 is for you. Via Google.

Don't forget to embellish your eyebrows ;) Via Google, Chanel A/W 2012.

So that's all for now, I'll show the next four trends later. It will give you time to mull over these trends and pick the best things for your closet :) All pictures not via Google from weheartit.com.
